The Wiener of OZ

Yes, that's right. This weekend Ben and I went to the 13th annual Wiener Dog Races in Buda, TX. We met up with my family and we all went to watch those doggies show off their stuff. It was hilarious to watch and even funnier when the dogs totally lost sight of where they were going and started chasing the other dogs they were racing against. The best part was trying to guess which dog would win before they started. Pink or green almost always won. It was especially fun because my sister Adrienne is back in Austin and it was so good to see her and spend time with her (which I am sure we'll be doing a lot of this summer). Here are some awesome pics for your enjoyment:
Look at him go! He totally won this race. By a landslide. And what color was he? Green I think...
There they go!!! (This is when our seats were much farther away, and we moved as people left)

Alli, Ben and I enjoying the sun and the races.

This dog and his owners were sitting in front of us for most of the races. Seeing his face almost made me want my own wiener dog! He was just too cute! Overall this wiener dog named Alexander was named "The Wiener of Oz" and him and his owner got a grand prize of $500. Pretty good if you ask me. I'm totally counting on going again next year for sure!

Enchanted Rock

This past weekend Ben and I had the chance to go to Enchanted Rock to climb and enjoy the view. It was truly breathtaking. I was extremely proud of myself for climbing all the way to the top, especially since climbing and hiking have always been Ben's "thing". It was a two hour drive there, but it was worth the wait. The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect day for it.

The park was closed when we got there so we had to wait a little while for it to open. There were literally millions of bluebonnets lining the road, so we just had to get out and take a few pictures! I love Texas in the Springtime!
When we left I felt like I had really accomplished something cool. I'm glad that Ben makes me do things that I'm not always completely comfortable with sometimes. It really makes me realize that I can do lots of things if I just set my mind to it. The trip was a lot of fun and I'm so glad we went!

Pregnant

No. I'm not. My sister is. I have to say my Natalie getting pregnant was a bit surprising. I thought she and her husband would wait a little longer since he still has lots of school left. Shows what I know. Of course Ben said he wasn't too surprised and knew it would happen soon (go figure). I am really happy for her, and it's crazy that in October I will be an aunt! AHHH! I currently have mixed feelings about babies though. I love them, they're adorable, and every time I see pictures of them I think or say, "AWWWWWWWWWWWW". But at the same time, I remember what life was like when my mom was pregnant with Alli. I remember lots of crying, throwing up, poopy diapers, etc. Since those memories are still fairly fresh in my mind, and since Ben and I are saving up for law school in the fall, the chances of me having one are slim to none right now. I know everyone says that all of the bad pales in comparison to all of the good, and I totally agree. I'm very happy for all of my friends who are taking that huge leap of faith and starting their families. I'm just not ready yet. We're not ready yet. But I'm excited and ready to be an Aunt! Bring on the niece so I can enjoy all the good for awhile... :) For now I'll just stick to taking care of this one...
